We are proud to now be offering a range of branded CBD spa products and CBD infused topical treatments as well as a range of CBD products of scented and unscented massage oils, face serums, body scrubs, and balms.

Offering the option of CBD products in our treatments is a natural progression in our holistic wellness program. CBD products are legal and have become a very popular and natural way for people to seek and maintain better health and relief from pain. You can now upgrade traditional spa treatments with topically applied CBD products. This complements our existing all-natural AVEDA and ilike product line. Although CBD is believed to have wide-ranging health benefits, the most common effects reported are improved sleep and reductions of chronic pain, anxiety, and stress.

Ashley Reynolds, founder, and CEO of Elmore Mountain Therapeutics, is recognized as an expert in her field and was recently invited to give a TED Talk about the use of CBD and its beneficial effects on the body. Her TED Talk is available on YouTube and is titled Cannabis – A Future Without Stigma.

Cannabidiol, popularly known as simply CBD, is a naturally occurring non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound that is found in cannabis and hemp plants. The CBD receptors (known as CB2) are part of the human endocannabinoid system, which is the physiological system that helps bring balance to the body, including maintenance of bodily functions, pain, inflammation, and the immune system. CB2 receptors are found in nerve and immune cells in just about every organ, including the skin!

The benefits of both massage therapy and CBD individually can provide great relief to the body. When CBD is incorporated into massage therapy, the results can be more intense. CBD will bind and act on the CB2 receptors in the skin which will activate the endocannabinoid system to deliver relief from pain and inflammation. At the Spa of the Christmas Farm Inn, our Massage Therapists use jojoba and apricot kernel oil infused with 25 mg of Elmore Mountain Therapeutic CBD oil. The use of this infused massage oil also prolongs the benefits of the massage!

Since CBD is non-psychoactive, you do not have to worry about getting a “high” feeling from the CBD massage. If you were to get a massage that incorporated both THC and CBD topical products, you still wouldn’t feel a high. Studies conducted by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) have concluded that the body has a low absorption rate for these cannabinoids and they never absorbed into the bloodstream when used topically. In fact, CBD has shown to counteract and reduce the psychoactivity of THC in cannabis-derived products, therefore preventing you from feeling “stoned”.
