Wines of the West Coast
Wednesday, January 24 at 5 pm
Explore wines from the West Coast as Al Zarella of Precept Wines joins us at Christmas Farm Inn on Tuesday, January 24th, 2018. A four-course meal of dishes paired with the wines begins at 5 pm in the Barn. The cost is $75 all-inclusive.
Precept Wine is one of the fastest-growing wine companies in the United States, with a unique portfolio representing emerging American wine regions throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and New Mexico. They are trailblazers in American winemaking and uniquely poised as an industry leader. The company landed four Wine Spectator 100 Top Values of 2016.
Precept will present four wines:
Canoe Ridge Reserve Chardonnay 2014 –
Apple and pear notes flourish in a delicious, buttery wine. Rich, round and full of tropical flavors, including pineapple, guava and a touch of vanilla.
Browne Family Merlot –
Beautiful aromatics of violets and red roses lead into a medium to heavy bodied wine with a mix of dark chocolate, van cherries and cassis flavors on the palate. Silky soft and integrated tannins, this wine finishes with fresh black fig and red cherry flavors. A cellar-worthy wine that is drinking well now, but has even greater potential with age.
Pendulum Red Blend –
Sweet black cherry and toasted oak aromatics introduce flavors of Santa Rosa plum, clove and raspberry. Flawlessly balanced, a long finish chocolate cake and berry jam rounds out the palate. This umami-evoking wine will pair well with nearly any food, but it also makes the perfect standalone, pre-dinner sipper.
Washington Hills Late Harvest Riesling 2015 –
Concentrated honeysuckle blossom aromas are echoed by notes of clover honey, apricot, orange blossom and thistle throughout the palate. Notes of honey-dipped apricot linger on the long-lasting finish.
A four-course meal of dishes paired with the wines begins at 6 pm in our restored historic Barn. The bar opens at 5 pm. The cost is $75 all-inclusive.
